I would have liked more instruction on laying out the different areas This book does give some information about different plants and what zone they grow best in but just not what I was looking for. If you are looking for where to start your project, how to start your project etc. you will probably want to but a full version not this mini version
I really expected more from this book. The information included was accurate, but so basic as to be unhelpful in actually planning any kind of landscaping. It should be named, "Preliminary to Starting to Learn About Landscaping". It wasn't bad, but had no substance and was of no help to me at all. I was disappointed.

A lot of time is spent listing plants, which is useful, but not in a basic primer like this. I'd prefer if it more information was given to landscaping technique.
I like the basic overall information. Would have liked to see more illustrations as they were helpful. Possibly add illustrations of some plant varieties to help visualize, since landscaping is after all a visual project.
This is a pretty good book. I got it on my Kindle and I've read it twice. It has some great ideas.
