My daughter found this book at our public library & we absolutely loved it! I took it to her kinder class for Mystery Reader day & the kids in class thought it was so funny, they were literally laughing out loud. Love the ongoing miscommunication between Rapunzel & the prince, "Rapunzel Rapunzel, let down your rope!" Rapunzel thought he said cantaloupe so she throws down a cantaloupe. I asked the class for a volunteer to be my prince & I the reader was Rapunzel. I had him say aloud the prince's lines & at the right time, threw some fun props at him i.e. pretend cantaloupe, play doll undies, socks, etc. This book is too cute, funny, and entertaining! Loved the illustrations too! Such a great read I wound up buying it for the kinder teacher's classroom collection. Love LOVE this book & you will too!
This book can be an amazing book if You plan in advance. One of my friends read this book for kids ages 2 years to 6th grade at our summer reading program last summer. She did an amazing job with it. The kids laughed so much and they were so attentive. My friend had costumes for the maid, donkey, princess and had other props. She had socks, pretend dirty underwears, laundry basket and whatever items the book called for, she brought. She had the kids act out the book and they had so much fun. It was a night of laughter. I'll never forget the kids reaction and smiling faces. I had to order it myself because it is so hilarious.
One of my favorite children's books! I have slowly been building up my children's book library and this book is one of my favorites. It gets all kinds of laughs from all kids. A fun spin the the story of Rapunzel with great rhyming. It gets children alert and all the kids I have read it to try to make up or predict what Rapunzel will throw out her window next. Very cute, very entertaining!
Charming and witty take on a classic tale! I plan to use it in the classroom with preschoolers as part of a week on manners as we talk about princes and princesses. The classics are wonderful, but I want to present them in a light-hearted manner. I also want the children to be empowered and not see themselves necessarily in the classic roles that are typically presented in the classic tales for children. I highly recommend it for children from about age 3 to 93! I found it so amusing I had to share it with all my co-workers before presenting it to the children!

One of my favorite kids' books to read aloud! Funny enough for me to enjoy along with them. My youngest ripped our paperback copy we were given as a gift, which was already taped from so much use the pages loosened out of the book. I liked it enough to order it in hardback. We don't own a large collection since we go to the library at least weekly and my kids enjoy the "new stories" best, but this is one to have around!
Sooooooo funny. Great twist on a story we've all heard a thousand times. Instead of throwing down her hair per the princes request, Rapunzel continues to miss understand the prince and throws down a variety of other items. Enjoyable. Not just for the little ones.
LOVE this story....super funny and the kids made their own play narrating the story and acting out the mishaps.
