This just arrived and I have only read a few of the poems so far. I tried reading them aloud to my wife, but I couldn’t catch my breath and tears were streaming down my face. My wife then tried to read some to me but was stymied by the same problem. The truth is it was a lovely (married) couple’s moment that also mocked our most humiliating moments. Kenney is unbelievably funny. My wife is convinced that he must have a webcam in our home to capture us at our worst. I look forward to trying to get through a few more tonight.

This book was the worst. First of all it is not poetry. It is a book of ramblings of unhappy married people. What they are saying is true but what a sad state their marriage is. We have been happily married for 47 years. Even my husband thought the book is without merrit. Maybe it is an age difference but I wouldn't waste my money on it.

Based on the reviews, I expected this took take an amusing look at marriage, but at least contain something about love, and perhaps something my husband would enjoy hearing read .... but there's nothing nice inferred about a spouse anywhere to be seen. It's more accurately a book of poems about dissatisfaction in marriage.

Hate Poems for Almost Divorced People is a more accurate title. HATED THIS BOOK SO MUCH. I feel sorry for the person who wrote it. What a sad way to be together. I've been married 20 years and I realize marriage is not all butterflies and rainbows, but this is ridiculous. If you want a book that is accurate to the title, don't get this one. It's crap.

Purchased after hearing author on NPR. My wife loved this for Valentines Day. Very well written and funny.

I thought this was a great book. Hilarious, real and romantic in turns. Enjoyed it very much.

This was a Christmas gift and they said they enjoyed the book.

I read this in one sitting. I even highlighted numerous poems to read to my husband. I’m giggling now just thinking about a few of them. For anyone who is married, it’s a must read. My favorite poem is ”At the Kitchen Sink”.I’ll end this review with “Wha Wha” or as my husband says “honk honk”.
